Tomomi Nakamura, founder of WHERE THE WILD THINGS EAT immigrated from Japan in her early 20s in search of new adventures and opportunities. After several years in the US, she settled in Colorado with her family in 2019, drawn by their love for the outdoors.
In early 2025, Tomomi left her career in technology to pursue her passion for food and cooking, launching a small-batch seasoning and specialty foods brand inspired by her roots. WHERE THE WILD THINGS EAT was born from Japan’s culinary depth and the wild beauty of Colorado. It brings a taste of Japanese umami while blending authenticity with local flavors.
