The Good Jar, Spring Market Featured Artisan, Is All About Delicious, All Natural Relishes, Pickles
Growing up in a food family with amazing cooks, incredible recipes and the love of delicious, good food from the earth, created a passion for food in Eric Vierra and lead him to The Good Jar!
BEGINNING THE HANDMADE JOURNEY
Proprietor Eric Vierra has always had a passion for food and has been cooking, pickling and canning for friends and family for most of his life. Surrounded by a bounty of local and organic produce in Colorado, he decided the time was right to launch The Good Jar in 2014. Eric continues to add new products regularly with old family recipes as well as new creations inspired by local seasonal produce.
The Good Jar is all about delicious, all natural relishes, pickles and preserves from carefully crafted heritage-style recipes. Each jar is hand-packed in small batches for maximum flavor and freshness.
FRESH, QUALITY, LOCAL INGREDIENTS ARE THE SECRET SAUCE
Eric realized there was a gap in the market for products like piccalilli, a green tomato relish that he had grown up eating. Working with Colorado farms he has been able to locally source produce, including green tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers and organic rhubarb, to make the foods he and his customers love. The end result is a delicious topping for a brat or burger, the perfect garnish for a bloody mary or a sweet complement to a savory sandwich.
Featured Colorado farms include:
Rocky Mountain Fresh
Full Circle Farms
High Altitude Rhubarb
FEATURED PRODUCT AT FIREFLY SPRING MARKET
One of The Good Jar’s featured products at Firefly Spring Market will be a Rhubarb & Fig Spread. The spread’s savory and sweet notes with a hint of pink peppercorn makes it a versatile condiment, great on popovers, a sandwich, as a chutney or a flatbread spread. It is a micro-batch production, hand-packed and 100 percent natural, made from organic rhubarb from High Altitude Rhubarb in Black Forest, Colorado.
SPILLING THE BEANS ON SHARING
Produce for every Good Jar product is carefully selected and hand packed for consistent quality. Green beans, unfortunately, don’t always grow to be the perfect size for our jars so some don’t make the cut. Since their only fault is not meeting size requirements, we pass along these tasty beans to the Community Food Share where they become part of their fresh produce offerings. So whether they go onto become a delicious dilly bean or onto the plate of someone in need, every bean is enjoyed!
