FF: How did you begin your handmade journey?
S8: I began painting and printing full time after the most wonderful encouragement from my friends and family. They nudged me into taking the leap and ignoring the fear of it all!
FF: What lead you to your current line of goods?
S8: I have recently become obsessed with animals. It's a little pocket I've enjoyed and think I'll sit in for a while.
FF: What materials do you work with & why?
S8: Printing my watercolors on wood was a very natural progression, We spend quite a bit of time in the mountains and my Dad has always had a great wood shop full of beautiful slabs and furniture he's building. I became interested in exploring how to use the wood slabs as a canvas and voilà!
FF: Inspiration comes from where?
S8: I am inspired by my every day life! The people I meet, the food I eat, the shapes and patterns and images I see, it all seeps into my work.
FF: What excites you for the future?
S8: The future is exciting because it is exactly that! The future...it's an unknown and I think that's a wonderful thing about life. You never know what's around the corner, but it will be different than today and you will get to learn and grow into something new and different.
FF: Any advice for makers and biz entrepreneurs new to our creative community?
S8: Stay unique to who you are and what you are passionate about.
